Roman Iron Arrowheads - 1st to 2nd Century AD
D (now SOLD) is 3 inches long overall, the others in proportion.
Those on the left are 'flat', on the right are more three-dimensional.
F and H are square in cross-section G is three lobed.
B and D are now SOLD and E is reserved

Roman Finger Rings - wearable

     
A selection of individually priced roman rings - each ring is shown twice.
The letters in green on the left photo give the approximate sizes (English & Australian usage).
Size conversion tables are readily available on the internet for other countries.
A325 has an inset design of a standing stork and A328 appears to have an inset of a flying bird.
A197 is silver and, from its shape, was meant to be worn above the knuckle.
A436 is now SOLD
Bronze rings were originally gilded - they can be cleaned & polished and/or re-gilded by a professional jeweller.
A334 (now SOLD) has been re-gilded and fitted with a turquoise stone to restore it to its original appearance.
All bronze rings can be polished and/or re-gilded by a professional jeweller.

Nos 4 and 5 are now SOLD
Numbers 14 and 16 are low grade silver alloy, the rest are bronze.
Numbers 3, 7, 8, 14 and 16 have an oval profile which means they were designed to be worn above the knuckle -
because of their oval profile, sizes quoted for these five rings are very approximate.

Bronze rings were originally gilded - they can be polished and/or re-gilded by a professional jeweller,
as the 'before & after' photos below illustrate.


Both of these rings is available, in their gilded state, for 75 each.
The top one is size T (English & Australian usage)
The lower one is size O (English & Australian usage)

Roman Crosses

The smaller crosses (all with suspension loops for wearing) are marked with 5 circles representing the five wounds of Christ.
A435 is the lid of a wearable reliquary with lower hoops for hinges.

The three bottles on the left are in Bookcase, Carlisle and will stand on their bases
A416 and A419 have some iridescence; A417 has a lot of iridescence.
The natural colour of roman glass is pale green (aquamarine). Iridescence (silvering) is a surface deposit, the result of being buried.
